Clinic staff turnover has been a result of the insecurity that exists in Haiti today. It is challenging for Pastor Delamy to find replacement personnel. We praise him for effectively managing staff turnover and finding dedicated professionals.

Dr. Widler Pierre Widson Dortilus
One of these dedicated professionals is Dr. Widler Pierre Widson Dortilus, originally from Port-au-Prince, he joined the Clinic of Hope in the summer of 2024. Due to ongoing gang violence in Port-au-Prince, Dr. Dortilus has not seen his family for the past nine months. Despite this hardship, he continues to serve at the clinic.
Dr. Dortilus is respected and appreciated by both staff and patients. He is skilled in managing significant lacerations, which is essential in a 24/7 healthcare setting. Pastor Delamy considers him a valuable addition to the Clinic of Hope team.
Dr. Dortilus continues to maintain a professional collaboration via internet with Dr. Jadotte particularly through a program called “Scientific Thursdays.” This program began last year in the clinic and is very popular with the Clinic of Hope staff in helping them stay up-to-date with current medical issues.
Pastor Delamy and Dr. Dortilus are two excellent reasons why the Clinic of Hope continues to be a beacon of hope while clinics and hospitals are closing throughout the country because of the threats of the gang violence.
