“The mission of community health is to heal, to understand and to accompany,”
Dr. Dave Ortega, on staff at the Clinic of Hope, sent an email about recent home visits. He not only sent information about the importance of these home visits but included two photo collages that he created. This creative communication helps tell the story of the home visits through photos.

These home visits reveal many infectious and chronic illnesses affecting people of all ages, from children to the elderly. In these remote areas, where access to health information and services is limited, illness often goes unnoticed and suffering remains hidden.
Each visit goes beyond medical care. The doctors, nurses and community volunteers take time to listen carefully to patients and their families during each visit. It is an opportunity to observe, engage with families and collect important information to improve services at the Clinic of Hope. These visits help identify real health needs and build trust with the community.
The efforts of these doctors, nurses and community volunteers show a strong commitment to people-centered, community-based care—where respect for each patient is at the heart of every action.
