“It is a blessing to be associated with Haiti Foundation of Hope and all the positive things that are still happening in spite of the difficult situation in Haiti at this time.” – Dave Ezell
I am an HFH board member and I shared these words at a November Missions Conference at First Baptist Church of Brownsville, Oregon. Ron Whitted, another HFH board member, and I hosted a booth for Haiti Foundation of Hope at the conference. We shared what is currently going on in Terre Blanche and the challenges that Pastor Delamy and all the people in Terre Blanche and Haiti are facing.
During a panel discussion, I was asked, “How have you seen God work in Terre Blanche at this current time?”
I was happy to report that God is working in many wonderful ways:
- The Clinic of Hope and the Markee Maternity Center are open for business on a regular basis staffed by Haitians: doctors, nurses, lab technicians and more. They have adapted and stepped up to the plate to serve their people – showing them the love of Jesus.
- Babies are being born at the Markee Maternity Center and given follow up care.
- In addition to receiving an education, over 800 kids are served a lunch every day and “they leave with joy,” as Pastor Delamy says.
- A solar project, to provide a reliable source of energy and a school computer lab, is currently under way.
These were a few of the things Ron and I shared at the missions conference. God is at work and we are honored to be partnering with those in Haiti who are faithfully doing the work.
