The New Year

Happy New Year, everyone.

We know this past year has been difficult in Haiti. Almost one year ago – on January 12, 2010 – the country was rocked by a massive earthquake. The impact of the earthquake – homelessness, loss of life, limited resources – remains a part of life in Haiti. Storms, flooding and cholera have also taken their toll.

But through it all, we have seen and been inspired by the strength and faith of the Haitian people. As much as we aspire to encourage our Haitian partners and those we serve, we are encouraged by them.

We have medical teams which are preparing to work this year at the Clinic of Hope. We continue to support ongoing programs such as community health, a women’s trade school, and education for children, who are the first in their families to go to school.

We are fortunate to work with wonderful in-country partners and we are thankful for all our supporters here at home.

Because of all this we look to 2011 with hope and we are excited about what’s ahead.
