A Reason to Run

Attention Northwest runners and walkers.

The second annual “A Reason to Run” 5K run/walk will be held on Saturday, May 10, and will benefit Haiti Foundation of Hope along with three other charities.

The event is hosted by the Columbia Presbyterian Church and will include a children’s 1/2-mile run. Festivities and the starting line will be at Marine Park in Vancouver, WA, and the race course will parallel the Columbia River.

Hunger and starvation are profound in Haiti right now. Malnourished children are everywhere, not just in the impoverished and rural communities that HFH serves. Recently, mothers came from all over to receive help from the Clinic of Hope for their malnourished children. They received Medika Mamba, a fortified peanut butter, for their sick children as well as a large bag of rice to take home and share with their families.
