May 18 is Flag Day in Haiti. This celebrates the day the Haitian flag was created in 1803. Haiti’s independence followed in 1804. Haitians are fiercely proud of their country and the flag that represents it.
The students at the schools in Terre Blanche celebrated Flag Day with a full day of activities from 9:30-4:00. The school yard was decorated with the flag’s colors of red and blue. There were presentations reflecting on the history of the Haitian flag, poems, music and soccer. The day ended with a bit of rain which is always a blessing.
Join us as we pray for Haiti and her people.
