Uncertainty and Upheaval

This article was prompted by a recent unexpected donation from a church in Ohio.

What a year 2020 has been in terms of the unexpected and unknown. These are the times that God can use to cause us to look to Him.

That is true of the situation in Haiti as well. With the Haitian government in turmoil and no resolution apparent and with COVID-19, HFH has looked to God and made adjustments.

Although we have not been able to send teams to Haiti for two years, the Lord has enabled the local leadership in Terre Blanche to carry on the work.

The Clinic of Hope continues meeting the medical needs of those throughout the area. School started on August 10 and is making every effort to respond to the situation resulting from COVID-19. The Community Health volunteers are connecting with their neighbors and directing them to resources.

The most challenging issue is food supplies. Inflation has been a very serious issue this year making everything more expensive but especially food. The local leadership is working diligently to find, purchase and distribute basic food staples for those without any resources.

It is this situation that makes us so grateful for each of the faithful donors that allows HFH to continue helping our partners when the need is so great.

As we pray the Lord’s Prayer, may we be reminded that when our Haitian sisters and brothers pray “give us this day our daily bread” it has very significant meaning.

To each of you who give faithfully, we offer a very heartfelt Thank You.
