Recently, a rally post for pregnant women was held at the Clinic of Hope. Rally posts are promoted by each village’s Community Health volunteers and the Clinic of Hope staff provides screening and education – but this one had an added twist.
The Sunday before this scheduled rally post, the Lord gave Pastor Delamy the idea to ask the women of the church who had delivered at the Clinic of Hope to come to the rally post, as well.
So, during the church service, Pastor Delamy invited these women to join the rally post the following week to share their experiences, the importance of prenatal care, and the connection to the Clinic of Hope and the Markee Maternity Center. He encouraged these ‘mentors’ to invite current pregnant women to attend the rally post.
Pastor Delamy and the staff were very encouraged by the response. More than 100 women attended from Terre Blanche and the surrounding villages. Miss Bernadette, the maternity nurse at the Markee Maternity Center, led the event and a little food was shared with each woman.
Your donations to nutrition, community health, and clinic staff were used for this rally post and helped mothers and children in northern Haiti. Each gift is greatly appreciated in these very difficult times.
